Bedding is something that is often times neglected. Here’s a simple way to refresh your bed on a budget.

I realized recently that my bedding was something I had neglected for a while. I think because we spend so much time in our beds, we grow blind to the way it looks.
My bedding wasn’t bad looking, it was just a little worn out and sad. We’d had it since we got married (4 years or so) and it was time to upgrade. Therefore, with some birthday money, I looked around for some deals and found some really great things.
Here’s what I found

All of this cost me just over $100. As you all know by now, I’m pretty much as budget conscious as it gets. So to get all of this for that price, you can imagine how pumped I was.

Synthetic Fibers vs Natural Fibers
One thing that’s really important to me, is that when I’m finding budget-friendly items, I don’t want to forgo quality. A lot of the items that were in my price range were synthetic. It just takes away from the luxury feeling.
I’m personally not a big fan of microfiber, for example, and all of the duvets and blankets/quilts in my price range were microfiber. I was dead set on cotton, and guess what, I found it!
Since a cotton quilt didn’t fit in my price range, I ended up just getting a queen sized cotton, waffle knit blanket. And… well… IT WORKED. I honestly think it looks really great. I wasn’t going to share about it if I didn’t like it.

Budget or Splurge…
In a recent poll I did on IG, 58% of you said that you’d rather save up and wait in order to get a specific item that’s exactly what you’re looking for. 42% of you said you’d rather settle in order to get something in budget.
I, personally, prefer to settle, still getting something that I like, of course. I think the reason for that is that I rarely see something and think “Oh I HAVE to have that”. If I do feel that way, I usually forget about it, or realize it’s out of reach. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being one way or another, I would just encourage you to change your mindset to fit within your means.
If you are constantly finding things you love, but the price tag isn’t even close to being doable for you, it might cause you to stay where you’re at and never make progress because it feels out of reach. Instead, maybe think about how you could do it yourself or find something similar elsewhere.

Hi! Great article! I’m curious if you have specific sheets – flat & fitted, you’d recommend? TIA!
Hi Tina! Thanks for your comment. I don’t have a link to specific sheets that I like, but I will say, I typically get them from Home Goods or Costco, and just always make sure they’re 100% cotton or a cotton/linen mix. Hope that helps!
