A BEDROOM REFRESH DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE. FOLLOW ALONG AS I SHOW YOU SOME BASICS THAT WILL COMPLETELY CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR SPACE, WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK.

So a good friend of mine is a successful Airbnb Superhost/property manager/entrepreneur. She has several properties of her own and also manages Airbnb properties for other people. A blog interviewed her last year for renting out her Airbnb’s backyard to campers. WHAT. If that’s not entrepreneurship and a creative business mind, I don’t know what is. She’s an inspiration for sure. You can find that interview here.

You can find this particular Airbnb here. If you’re ever looking for somewhere to stay in Colorado, check it out!

Anyway, she asked me to help her with a quick master bedroom makeover. Of course I said, “HECK YES”. She was on a time crunch and had a budget in mind.

I quickly came up with a design board to make sure we didn’t spend any unnecessary money and that knew where we were headed.

*I’ll be writing a post really soon here explaining my favorite way to make a design board. I’ll make sure to link it here when I get it done.*

5 Ways to Quickly Refresh your Master Bedroom on a Budget

If you’ve learned anything about me thus far, it’s that I love a steal. I will go out of my way to get a bargain, so much so, that it probably isn’t so much of a bargain anymore. (ie. going to 5 stores to save $2…… you get the point)

For this project, everything is budget friendly, but I won’t make you drive 12 places to find it all.

Follow these 5 quick, budget friendly tips for a simple master bedroom refresh, in order to help you love your space again.

1. Paint

I’ve heard it said so many times that the easiest way to change the entire feel of a room is to paint it. Here are a few of my favorite “greige” paint colors for interiors.

2. Bedding

One way to really lighten up a space and to make it feel so fresh is to replace the bedding. I love to go with white bedding, and add accent colors in throw pillows, blanket or quilt.

Here is a simple white duvet at a really affordable price. It also has great reviews. Gotta love Amazon.

Here is an insert for the duvet.

3. Curtains

Hands down, my favorite curtains ever are from IKEA. You can find them here. They are 98″, which is so so great. There’s not much worse (in my opinion) than curtains that are too short. These curtains are really wide and are a beautiful cotton fabric that almost has a linen look. I have them in almost every room of my house, if that tells you anything as to how much I love them. Anyway, go buy them. 😉

4. Furniture

By either painting your existing furniture or updating your headboard, you can make a huge impact.

Here are 2 affordable headboards to help change up your space (they’re both super budget friendly!)

5. Accessories

If I had to choose 3 accessories to make the most impact, I would most definitely choose a rug, art and throw pillows.

Lucky for you, I have a few affordable options for you. RugsUSA is, hands down, my favorite place to get rugs. The are constantly having a sale, which makes them extra affordable. Who doesn’t love that.

Below are some pillow options for your bed. 2 Euro pillows (for a full/queen) or 3 Euro’s (for a king) help to make the bed feel more luxurious. Add 1-3 throw pillows in addition to those and you’re golden!

Here are a few great options from Amazon. Click the picture to see the listing.

Below are a few great lamp options. I LOVE wall sconces above a pair of nightstands, but it can get tricky if you don’t want to hard wire anything. These 3 sconce options simply plug into an outlet, which makes it so doable and affordable! Click the picture to see the listing.

Here are a few art pieces that are so beautiful, but also so affordable it’s not even funny. All you have to do is get frames for them. Click the picture to see the listing.

I hope you’re feeling inspired to give your bedroom a quick refresh, no matter what your budget looks like. Honestly, most of the time I spend next to nothing on my house projects. It’s just about getting creative and creating a space that you love.

As always, thanks for reading!

I was trying to post this with original audio of m I was trying to post this with original audio of me explaining each item and my thoughts on the price etc etc but apparently I don’t have that capability yet on IG… so, enjoy this reel and just know that I had a lot more to say. 😂

I feel like my house is just constantly a mess, no matter how hard I try. Anyone else? It feels like I’m always behind, and to be honest, it bothers me a lot. It overwhelms me and stresses me out. It keeps me from being content and present. Between things constantly being broken (hello middle child) and just too much stuff in general.
Here’s what I’m working on to simplify and calm the chaos.
1. I’ve been removing all toys that don’t get played with often. We currently have magnatiles, Duplos, and race cars out. The rest have been moved to storage in the basement for the moment. We’ll see what we keep as my kids do sometimes notice toys they’re missing and ask for them.
2. I’ve been ruthlessly getting rid of stuff - whether donate or trash. If we don’t absolutely love it, or we have multiples, or no one touches it, or we have a huge pile of random papers and crafts. Gone. 😂 it’s so relieving.
3. I often have artwork and decor laying around because I don’t fully know where it’s going yet. I’ve been removing anything that doesn’t serve a purpose and have been putting it in basement storage. No point having it sit there and clutter. I’ll go get it when I’m ready to hang the picture or use the decor.
4. I’ve been re-assessing where we need more storage. I replaced a dresser that didn’t functional well with a $50 homeschool cabinet from FB marketplace and it’s been so much better.
5. As I remove things from our every day view, I’m noticing the ability to better enjoy the everyday messes and real life, because it isn’t so out of control and overwhelming.

I hope this is encouraging for mamas in the same boat ✨

We spent a lot of time in our front yard, but never really on our porch. I bought this porch paint months ago and finally got it done! Now our porch is a cozy place to sit ✨ Inspired by @mustardseedbeginnings super cute porch.
These frames have been sitting empty for a while n These frames have been sitting empty for a while now… I went to order some prints for them the other day, and I didn’t like the price. SO I decided I was going to make my own art for them. I found a fabric remnant at a local thrift store for $0.99 cents and voila. Took all of 5 mins ✨
