I want it to be known that paint can do and fix almost anything. I hope this “Just Paint it” series shows you just what I mean by that.
Before
Paint is misunderstood sometimes…
Back in the day, paint had limits. Basically it went on walls anddd that’s about it. You definitely didn’t paint tile or floors or concrete. Probably even furniture was frowned upon, considering it probably chipped (and people sometimes get real defensive about painting over wood furniture). Anyway. If there’s anything you read here… let it be this. Paint has changed.
While paint used to have limits, it’s not (almost) limitless. They literally have paint for appliances, countertops, bathroom TILE. Yes, you heard me right. TILE.
Anyway…
I’m starting a series called “Just Paint it”. Don’t overthink it. If you don’t like it and don’t have the money (or time/energy) to change it, just paint it!
First Stop: Painted Concrete Porch
Above you saw the beautiful “before” of our front porch. Just kidding. It was worn and bland.
You can see the full process of how we painted it here.
But I’m going to give you the run down.
First Coat
We did one coat last year, and we probably should’ve done another. Buttttt we didn’t. It looked nice still, just a little obvious in some parts that it wasn’t covered enough.
We used a “Porch and Patio” paint that I found at Home Depot.
Styled Porch
See how much better it looked?? And this was even before our house was painted. I just put a roller on a long stick and went to town. It really was simple and quick (and affordable).
This Year’s Porch
Tell me this…
Would you ever paint your concrete patio? I’d love to know!
As always, thanks so much for reading!
