How to Install Temporary Wallpaper
This wallpaper is so simple and changes up any space easily and affordably. Check out the process below and give it a try for yourself!
What You’ll Need…
- Wallpaper
- Utility Knife
- Scissors
- Screw Driver
- Tape measure *optional*
#1 – Prep the Space
Wipe down any surfaces as needed (and then make sure they’re totally dry before proceeding). Then remove any outlet covers, clear the counters and anything else that might be in the way.

#2 “Measure”
As you’ll see in the video, I prefer to cut a size that’s just a little bigger than what I need, and then use my utility knife to cut it exactly to size once I stick it in place. This is the easiest method for me, personally. I could see someone wanting to measure ahead of time and pre-cut out the outlet holes, but that’s too technical for me. So I guess this boils down to personal preference
#3 Adhere to the Wall
The next step would be to peel back the top part of the wallpaper and position it in place. Then, remove the rest of the backing as you continue to guide the wallpaper into place. Once it’s completely lined up with the previous pieces and completely stuck to the wall, go ahead and use a utility knife to cut along the counter and the bottom of the cabinets.
*Pro Tip* Be absolutely sure you overlap each panel by a little bit or they will separate and there will be gaps. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
#4 Repeat
That’s it! Very simple, repetitive process, especially for a backsplash. Keep your tools nearby and get it done!
