This past week, I teamed up with a few of my Instagram friends to do a living room refresh. It was super fun and definitely gave us some motivation to get projects done. Having a time limit, and others to keep me accountable, always helps this procrastinator.

You can see my friends’ living room refreshes here:

Aly from Iekel Road Home

Yari from @YariGarcia.Home

Leah from @KenningtonCorner

Christine from @TheCreasonCrew

They did some really beautiful things to their spaces, using almost 100% of what they already had at home. Go check them out! 🙂

As for my living room refresh… I don’t really have good “before” pictures, because it had just gotten out of hand. Cluttered and blah. But I do have one photo to kind of show you where I started.

Before

Spring Living Room Refresh

For the most part, I used things I already had. I did run out to Goodwill and Walmart briefly for a few small things to pull it all together. But for the most part, this was all done with things I had. Which means, you can do it too! I added woven blinds to my smaller window, and I’m so glad I did. I scored big time with this woven blind from Goodwill, but you can find one really similar here.

The main changes consisted of a few new pillows (from Goodwill tablecloth and dinner napkins), finishing my black and white striped wingback slipcover, refreshing my desk space, simplifying the walls ,etc.

The gold lamp was actually a Goodwill find, but you can shop it here.

As we’ve been home so much more through COVID-19, I feel this urge to just really simplify our house. Get rid of clutter, only put things that I love on the walls, etc. It feels so much more refreshing and less stressful, since we’re homebound for a while.

I had found this woven blind at Goodwill months ago, but didn’t put it up because it technically wouldn’t fit any of our windows. BUT, all of my windows have curtains, so I figured, who cares if it’s too wide for the window? The curtains will hide the extra. I’m so happy I did it… I now want woven blinds for all of my windows. Someday 😉

I hope you enjoyed this little refresh and that it encouraged you to shop your home and get creative to mix things up.

Thanks for reading! As always, it helps so much to pin below for later 🙂
